Learning Stations

Mr. Member, Mr. Reed, Mrs. Hill, and Miss Murray’s Classes

We believe the school garden and nature trail serves as an excellent extension of our classrooms. Every Thursday and Friday afternoon our students embark on exciting outdoor adventures through participation in various Learning Stations with the assistance of parents and community helpers. Students participate in hands-on, multisensory experiences. These activities include but are not limited to the following cross-curricular activities:

Gardening, tree identification, reading/writing/poetry, developing garden scrapbooks, making fossils, exploring the nature trail, creating nature arts and crafts, calculating perimeter/area, and completing diagrams, charts and graphs.

Most importantly, our students develop responsibility, self-control, and a cooperative spirit.
