HUDSON HAPPENINGS
 ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Vol. 4 No. 19                                                                                                               June 6, 2008

PARENTS – Please give your child an opportunity to read my letter.

 Dear 1st Graders,

This year has certainly flown by.  I cannot believe that I am already writing my farewell letter to you. Please remember all the wonderful things that happened this year at Hudson Maxim School.  Remember the times you heard all my rhymes, our author visit from Brian Heinz, our number of the week, our many “Acts of Kindness”, our Thanksgiving Sing-Along, our Spring Concert, Books and Beyond visits, field trips, and hatching chicks. Most importantly, if you are reading this now, remember that Hudson Maxim School is where you learned how to read.  Take some time at the end of the school year to show your appreciation to your teacher for giving you this wonderful gift.  I am very proud of each and every one of you.  Hey, take your hand, put it on your back.  What do you say?  That’s right, “Good job self”!

This year we are starting a new tradition at Hudson Maxim School.  You will be able to leave a little part of yourself behind.  Each first grader will be decorating their own memory rock and will leave it under the large pine tree in front of the school.  Therefore, whenever you come back to visit, you will be able to see your rock under the tree.  You will always be a part of our family.

I wish you the best as you move over to Tulsa Trail School.  I have told Mr. Nesnay, your new principal next year, so many wonderful things about you.  Please enjoy your time at Tulsa Trail, and have a safe, happy summer.

 Love,

Mrs. Hensz

LIBRARIAN’S NOTES

Thanks for a  wonderful year in Library.  A BIG round of applause to all the HMX children for their very curious minds which continuously asked to be nourished throughout the year.  It was my pleasure to work with such book hungry children.

Also, a big giant thank you to all the library parent volunteers this year. We couldn't have done it without your continued support.  You are the glue that holds our library together.  Also, a huge thank you to all the families who took the time to make reading their child's library book a big deal.  Your enthusiasm is contagious!

Have a safe and fun summer-

NURSE’S NOTES

As the last weeks of school are winding down, I would just like to thank you for the opportunity to serve as your school nurse.  I have enjoyed meeting and caring for your children while they were at school.  I wish all the first graders the best of success as they move on to Tulsa Trail, and welcome to all of the new students coming to school in September.

Don’t forget to have your child check the lost and found for missing garments and belongings they may have left at school.  Any question about this or any matters for which I may be helpful, feel free to contact me at 973-770-8892.
