Hopatcong Middle School Math Achievement To Realize Individual Excellence |
| The MATRIX project design calls for a collaborative effort among the Newton Public School District, the Hopatcong Public School System, and Technology Training Solutions (TTS), an educational technology company. |
| The end result of the project will be teachers with significantly improved skills at integrating technology into the classroom, increased math test scores on both the GEPA and Terra Nova and improved alignment with and achievement of the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards. |
| The MATRIX project offers both Hopatcong and Newton an opportunity to work toward using technology to foster student learning and achievement. |
| Two locations will be designated (one at each participating school) to house a dedicated computer lab for MATRIX to facilitate the delivery of technology-infused math instruction. |
|
Professional Development will be provided by TTS, Inc., a company with a proven success at delivering professional development in technology to teachers and administrators. In addition to workshops, TTS will coach and mentor the participating teachers in their classes. |
| Parents in both districts will have access to technology through after hours computer labs. Those parents who do not have access to computer and Internet Service at home will be able to access the MATRIX website at the computer labs. |
| This MATRIX website will provide full descriptions of the students' web based projects along with samples and activities. |
