OUR GOAL
To empower families to become true partners in their journey to success through collaboration, respect and the building of self-esteem leading to strong, confident and capable individuals.

OUR SERVICES
Information, Referral & Advocacy – a one-stop center for accessing information on all of the services and resources available for families, and guidance in navigating the social services system.

Family Success Plans – with guidance from a professional case manager, each family will develop their own plan for success, mapping out goals and the steps they’ll take to reach them.

Health Information – access information on child, maternal and family health, including linkages to publicly-funded health insurance programs and referrals to local health care services.

Life Skills Training on a variety of topics, such as household management, balancing a checkbook, budgeting, stress management, assertiveness, communication skills and self-esteem.

Parenting Skills Training – specialized training using the nationally recognized Nurturing Parenting Program.

Home Visits – trained and sensitive counselors will come to your home to provide parenting skills, life skills, health information and so much more.

Economic Self-Sufficiency Services – access to a wide variety of careering and educational programs, from career assessment to job training and placement, family literacy education, GED education, computer training, resume preparation, job search and interview skills and more.

Family Activities designed to strengthen family bonds and build happy memories, such as games, crafts, movie nights, family field trips and other issues facing families today.

Project Self-Sufficiency’s Family Success Center is located in Newton with outreach offices in the Hopatcong and Sussex-Wantage Schools, and will serve all families in Sussex and Northern Warren Counties in New Jersey, including single parents, teen parents, two-parent families and Spanish-speaking families. All services are FREE, and are offered on-site at Project Self-Sufficiency and at various community sites, as well as in participating families’ homes, with day and evening, weekday and weekend hours. This program is made possible by funding from the New Jersey Department of Children and Families, Division of Prevention & Community Partnerships.
