St. Jude’s Parish Center: Argyles Fish & Chips – April 12, 2014 from 6-8 pm. Donation $20. Children under 12 - $10. Coffee, tea, soda and dessert also served.   Eat in or take out. (Chicken also available.

Lunch with the Easter Bunny – Saturday, April 12th from 1-4 pm. Egg Hunt Starts at 2:30 at the Hopatcong Hills Fire and Rescue Co. 4. See attached flyer.

Hopatcong Earth Day Nature Hike, April 26: The Hopatcong Environmental Commission is sponsoring a guided Nature Hike at the Roland May Eves Mountain Inlet Sanctuary located in the Northwood section of Hopatcong on Sat., April 26th at 10 am. (Rain date: May 4th)   Come celebrate Earth Day by getting outdoors to enjoy nature and become familiar with the biodiversity of our surroundings. The hike (approximately 1 ½ miles) will be guided and narrated by Cliff Lundin, a well-known authority in this area. Walkers, hikers and all lovers of nature are encouraged to attend. FREE TREES TO HOPATCONG RESIDENTS: The Hopatcong Environmental Commission will be conducting distribution of 1,000 FREE TREES to borough residents on SAT, APRIL 19th (9 am to 2 pm) on the Hopatcong Borough Hall parking lot. The trees are bare-root seedlings ranging in size from 2 ft to 7 ft in height, depending upon variety. Trees are being provided through the NJ Tree Recovery Campaign with the goal of distributing 500,000 tree seedlings to NJ communities over the next five years to replace trees damaged or destroyed by super storm Sandy.

First Annual Beefsteak Dinner: Sponsored by the Hopatcong Hills Fire Co. # 4 on May 17, 2014 at the firehouse at the intersection of Jefferson Trail and Tulane Trail. Tickets are $40 each. See attached flyer.
 

Hudson Farm Club Spring Charity Hike, May 17, 2014. Hudson Farm Club, 270 Stanhope-Sparta Road, Hopatcong. Hikers may enter the trail between 7:30am – 11:30am. Enjoy time with family and friends while you help raise money for Hopatcong’s PTOs, the Hopatcong Ambulance Squad, the Hopatcong Fire Department, Hopatcong PBA Local 149 and several of Hopatcong’s Youth Sports Programs. Hudson Farm Club will donate $1 per year of age of each participant to whichever of these charities you choose. You may choose more than one charity to donate your “money” to.   Upon the completion of your hike, enjoy a complimentary lunch of hamburgers and hot dogs at Hudson Farm Club. A commemorative gift will also be awarded to all those who participate. Hikers & volunteers are needed. This great community event and the Hike is FREE! Please Note: this is a hike on a mountainous trail – NOT paved roads. Please use discretion with younger children and senior citizens. Adults must accompany children under 12 for the duration of the hike and an adult must sign the registration form for anyone under 18. This event is open to all – not just Hopatcong residents and is rain or shine. Parking will be on the Farm. Overflow parking with shuttle bus transportation will be provided. Carpooling is suggested. OLDIES NIGHT- Please help support St Jude's on May 17 Beer wine and food will be sold Please get the word out this will be a great OLDIES NIGHT with Johnny Contardo from Sha Na Na also appearing Lo and Behold Call to reserve your table or just purchase your ticket. HOPATCONG WOMEN’S CLUB – FASHION SHOW – April 27th from 12:30-to 4 pm at Perona Farms . Fashions provided by Coldwater Creek. See attached flyer.

 

THE CUB SCOUTS WANT YOU! Any boys entering grades 1 to 5 who loves to have fun, participate in group activities, go camping, fishing, hiking, and doing all sorts of good deeds in the community, WE WANTYOU!.Members from Cub Scout PACK 88 and PACK 194 will be holding an open recruitment on Monday,May12,2013 from 6:30pm to 8:00pm in the Auditorium at Hudson Maxim School. Why not stop by and see what scouting is all about. There will be displays and  leaders there who can answer your questions.
