Job Description

Hopatcong Middle School is seeking a dedicated and student-centered (ERI) Teacher to support students in grades 4–7 with significant social, emotional, and behavioral needs. The ERI teacher will provide specialized instruction in a structured, supportive classroom environment designed to promote emotional regulation, academic achievement, and positive social development. The successful candidate will utilize evidence-based practices and collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure student success.

Job Requirements
  • Valid New Jersey Teaching Certificate (Teacher of Students with Disabilities or equivalent required)
  • Appropriate NJ instructional certification (e.g., Elementary School Teacher K–6 and/or subject-area certification)
  • Demonstrated experience working with students with emotional and behavioral disabilities preferred
  • Strong classroom management and behavioral intervention skills
  • Knowledge of PBIS, SEL, and crisis intervention strategies (e.g., CPI)
  • Ability to build positive, therapeutic relationships with students
